Tier Series

The Tiered Sconce Series is a study in balance, repetition, and light as a sculptural force.

Inspired by the rhythmic forms and rounded balconies of Les Choux de Créteil – Gérard Grandval’s 1970s Brutalist housing complex outside of Paris – this series draws from a building conceived to be more sculptural than architectural. Resonating with Nedovic’s own practice, she reverses this logic: exploring sculptural objects informed by architecture.  Here, she reinterprets the layered geometry of Les Choux through the stacking of ceramic tiers.
Each sconce is crafted by hand in the Melbourne studio using local Australian clay, honouring a slow and tactile process that allows for subtle variation. Available in single, double, and triple tiers, the forms are minimalist yet impactful – their repeated arrangements a nod to Nedovic’s background in textile and pattern design.

Designed to enrich the space around them rather than dominate, the sconces emit a soft, ambient glow. They are produced in small, considered batches and finished with a glaze of natural white, charcoal black or amber brown – elemental tones that speak to earth and light.

The Tiered Sconce Series continues Nedovic’s exploration of how hand-built forms and light can coexist – not simply to illuminate, but to soften, shape, and invite pause.
